Source axons

Source axons produce images to feed the processing axons by setting parameters of the hardware generating the video stream.

1.BatchAxon:
Reads images from a hard disk to form a batch to produce an image stream.

2.FramegrabberAxon:
The FrameGrabberAxon is only used in a CortexServer in combination with a AVUTEC PCI express FrameGrabberCard.
The FrameGrabberCard captures images of analogue camera's and converts them to digital frames.
Besides that it features a hardware watchdog rebooting the system when necessary.

3.IDS Axon:
Axon responsible for producing images from the on board IR sensitive sensor controlling the configuration of its parameters as exposure, gain and resolution.

4.IDSPeakAxon
Axon responsible for producing images from the on board IR sensitive sensor controlling the configuration of its parameters as exposure, gain and resolution

5.IPCameraAxon
Produces a video stream from a RTSP source

6.USBCameraAxon:
Axon responsible for producing images from the on board color camera and controlling the configuration of it's parameters as image format and resolution, contrast and saturation. It is used in first generations of Gatekeepers, in the X-Series it is replaced by the VideoSourceAxon.

7.VideoSourceAxon:
The VideoSourceAxon is the Axon that controls the settings of the onboard color camera in the models of the X-Series.

Processing axons

Processing axons perform tasks on images like cropping, resizing and preparing for recognition. To this group the axons for the actual detection, the ANPRAxon and the DetectionAxons, also belong.

1.ANPRAxon:
Axon responsible for recognizing license plates.

2.ANPRThresholdAxon:
Axon responsible to define the conditions to be met before passing a recognized license plate to an output axon.

3.CarDataAxon:
This Axons adds extra car information to a recognized license plate offering valuable information for both marketing and security purposes.

4.DetectionAxon:
Generic Axon for deployment of neural networks. This is a powerful axon enabling CortexFramework to perform recognition and detection tasks.

5.DPS Axon:
The DPSAxon solely runs in a Cortex used for the Drive Off Prevention System (DPS), a complete solution to prevent fuel theft at gas stations.

6.EncodingAxon:
Axon responsible from converting and compressing raw bitmaps from both on board visual sensors necessary for the display of images in CortexClient.

7.FilterAxon (optional):
Axon responsible for setting conditions to pass or stop images. An example for the usage of this Axon is the fluent display of images in CortexClient when using sequencing for optimization of recognition in different light conditions. Each sequence has different gain and exposure suitable for different light conditions. The FilterAxon stops one sequence forwarding only one sequence to CortexClient for fluent (non blinking) display of video.

8.GatekeeperAxon:
Axon responsible to set the parameters of the motorized zoom lens, the strength of LED illumination and the Wiegand mode. The operation of the I/O pins can be configured in this axon.

9.ImageRotateAxon:
Axon responsible to rotate an image

10.ImgCropAxon:

Axon responsible to select a part of an image used in for instance two lane recognition.

11.ImgResizeAxon:
Axon responsible to set the resolution of an image.

12.LoadbalanceAxon:
Axon responsible to distribute images among detection axons for optimal usage of processing power.

13.ParkingAxon:
The ParkingAxon is part of AVUTEC's bundled package, CortexParking. With this package all functionality to open a barrier based on white list confirmation is done inside of the camera device.
White list management is done with the complementary Windows client. An IO extender is used to open the barrier.

14.VelocityAxon:
Axon responsible to determine direction of vehicles.

Output axons

Output axons send the result of the input and processing axons to third party systems.

1.DataBaseAxon:
The DataBaseAxon connects to both internal and external databases. The Axon is able the execute SQL commands and select queries.

2.DPS Axon:
The DPSAxon solely runs in a cortex used for the DriveOff Prevention System (DPS), a complete solution to prevent fuel theft at gas stations.

3.ExtendasAxon:
The ExtendasAxon interfaces with the SPINpos iPad cash register of Extendas.

4.FTPAxon:
Axon responsible for the upload of the output of the processing axons to a ftp server.

5.MediaServerAxon
Axon responsible for ONVIF discovery by VMS systems and the generation of a RTSP stream.

6.NXAxon:
NXAxon interfaces with the Nx Witness VMS of Nx Optics. With NxAxon conditions can be set to bookmark events in this video management system.

7.ParkingAxon:
The ParkingAxon is part of AVUTEC's bundled package, CortexParking. With this package all functionality to open a barrier based on white list confirmation is done inside of the camera device.
White list management is done with the complementary Windows client. An IO extender is used to open the barrier.

8.WebServiceAxon:
Axon responsible for the upload/output of the processing Axons to a web service.
