In the ANPR axon the actual recognition of license plates takes place.

The ANPRAxon recieves a message including an image, it performs ANPR and adds a messageinfo to it with the recognized license plate.

The AVUTEC ANPR engine offers many country modules. Each country module is trained on country specific characteristics to optimise performance.

A default Cortex contains four ANPRAxons to spread the recognition process over the available cores.  For each of the ANPRAxons the required countries need to be configured.
The ANPR engine will process the images in order of the country modules.
In the screenshot below a license plate will be first  processed by the NL-module. If it does not fit the country specific characteristics, it will continue to the DE-Module etcetera.

The XX-Module is always the last, since it has no country specific checks and will read all the license plates as they come in. Setting the XX-module first will block the pipeline, since it will read all the plates.

The XX-Module has the possibility to set a check for customized syntax.

1.Auto priority
When checked a country priority list is generated by CortexFramework automatically by counting the countries of origin of recognized license plates.

2.Inject license plate
A license plate can be injected to check the flow of a Cortex when no car is available. It is a handy feature to check whether a barrier opens. Or check whether a license plate is stored in a database like expected. The send button needs to be clicked depending on the threshold set in the ANPRThresholdAxon. A license plate has to reach the threshold first.

3.Country priority list
Each country uses it's own specific syntax for license plates.
A country specific syntax check is used by the ANPR engine to check the validity of a license plate. The priority list determines which syntax check is been used first.

Custom syntax

CC_ANPRAxon-custom-syntax

By default the XX-Module  does not perform any country specific checks and will read all the license plates as they come in.

As an extra feature, this module can be configured with custom syntax by adding one or more regexes.

Custom syntax can be added by clicking 'customize syntax'.

Default regex

The regex, .* , sets the default mode of  the XX-Module. It will pass through all recognitions without any syntax check.

Example custom regex

By setting the following regex, ^[A-Z]{2}[0-9]{4}$, the XX-module will only pass through any license plate that consists of 2 characters between A-Z followed by 4 numbers between 0-9.

A regex can be as strict as required.

Multiple regexes can be added.
