In order to acheive the best possible recognition follow the steps below here.

In each step click the chapters

Step 1 (remote or on-site)

Chapters

Choose the proper Gatekeeper-X model

Technical specifications

Positioning the camera

•Optimal recognition results can only be achieved by a proper projection. The mounting position is the base for accurate recognition results.

Tip: AVUTEC offers the projection service. A report is made to advise the best combination of Gatekeeper-X model and mounting position.

Step 2 (on site)

Chapters

Mount the camera.

Step 3 (on site)

Chapters

Connect with the Gatekeeper-X with a laptop with CortexClient installed.

CortexClient can be downloaded from the avutec support page with password Avutec!

Connecting with a Gatekeeper-X

CortexNavigator

There are three ways of connecting to CortexFramework devices and processes: CortexConnect, Direct and Discovery.

1.Discovery
Devices within the local network will be discovered by a process called Discovery. This will happen automatically.

2.Direct
A direct connection is ip adress based. To connect Direct port forwarding or additional configuration will be necessary.

3.CortexConnect
To simplify accessing CortexFramework devices AVUTEC developed CortexConnect. CortexConnect is AVUTEC’s remote access tool to connect to devices running CortexFramework without the need for port forwarding, opening firewalls or setting up a VPN connection. A subscription to CortexConnect provides access to this service and allows for a secure connection to all your CortexFramework devices.

On site configuration and optimisation of ANPR and detection results

Follow the steps in:

Optimise ANPR and recognition

1.Make sure license plate is of the correct dimensions, read more.

2.Set minimum license plate width, read more.

3.Select region of interest of the IR camera (IDSAxon/IDSPeakAxon/IRXAxon), increase FPS and make sure license plates are recognised, read more.

4.Add the color camera for ANPR  and make sure license plates are recognized, read more.

5.Adjust mounting position (according to the steps above) of the device for optimal recognition, read more.

6.Set the two sequences of the IR camera when installation is outdoors or lighting condition vary, read more.

7.Configure the ANPR threshold to optimise ANPR, read more.

Step 5 (remote or on-site)

Chapters

Set settings of all additional Axons.

•Set settings of all additional Axons, for example webserviceAxon, DatabaseAxon or FTPAxon.

•Check the two sequences of the IR camera (IDSAxon) during different lighting conditions, when installation is outdoors or lighting condition vary.
As of GK_410X4 and GK_1250X4 this no longer is reguired. This is now automated.

•Monitor ANPR and recognition overtime using CortexClient.

Step 6 (remote )

Chapters

Monitoring and adjusting the settings while operational

Select ROI ANPR sensor

•After 250 license plates use the crop map to check or determine the region of interest of the IDSAxon/IDSPeakAxon.
The IDSAxon/IDSPeakAxon/IRXAxon produces the images of the main ANPR sensor.
