Use case 2: CortexParking

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Scenario: A small car park for company employees.

Client demands:

1.ANPR based access control

2.White list management.

3.Keep access control infrastructure as simple as possible

Solution

CortexParking would be the solution advised in a situation like this.

This solution includes a CortexDevice, a Gatekeeper with IO extender or a Module-X.  Besides that, the solution includes an embedded MySql database to store authorized license plates  plus a windows client for white list management and live view of the entrance area.

A specially developed Axon, the ParkingAxon, is placed in the Cortex for server side functionality.

How does it work

•A CortexDevice is installed at the gate.

•The CortexParking client is installed on a PC or laptop.

•A list of authorized license plates, the white list, can be uploaded via the CortexParking client to the CortexDevice.

•The CortexDevice will use this list to decide on opening the gate by comparing it's entries with a license plate read.

•The relay functionality of the CortexDevice is used to open the barrier.

•CortexParking client offers a live view of the entrance area and an extra button to open the gate for an invited guest that is not on the white list.

No extra access control systems are necessary. Only a CortexDevice and a electronically operable gate or garage.
For more information about this package consult the CortexParking manual.

ULLAxon

HD color camera used overview and second source for the ANPR engine.

ANPRAxon

The ANPR engine.

ANPRThresholdAxon

ANPRThresholdAxon defines the number of equal recognitions before a read is seen as a valid recognition. Only valid recognitions are used further in the Cortex.

GatekeeperAxon

Operating the I/O pins of the relay functionality of the I/O extender(Gatekeeper) and the I/O cable (Module-X)

ParkingAxon

1.Checks recognized license plate with internally stored database.

2.Sends a message to the GatekeeperAxon to operate the I/O pins to open the gate.

3.Provides live stream to be viewed in CortexParking client
